The Problem: - Communication between instructors and students became non-existent due to technical difficulties during COVID-19. - Teachers are feeling stuck and confused trying to deliver the same experience and get more engagement and participation from their students. Our Approach: - We can use current tools to create an easier, familiar platform for teachers with a more direct educational purpose. - This platform will allow teachers to learn from their past classes and improve their modes of delivery. - It will also allow teachers to check in on students to see how they are reacting to the lesson.
INTERVIEW QUESTIONS: To start our user research, we interviewed three educators: one high school teacher and two college professors. We asked them a set of questions about their experiences with online learning. - How many years have you been teaching? - How did you feel about the shift to remote teaching? - How has remote teaching changed since the beginning of the pandemic? - Were you prepared for remote teaching? - How many classes have you taught online? - Did your drive for being a teacher change throughout the process?
FEATURES AND FUNCTIONS: - Instructors can view statistical data on which mode of delivery is working best for each class. - Instructors can see where students are excelling and where they need extra help, with suggestions on how to improve. - Streamlined analyzes the data and provides recommendations on where participation seems to be lacking.
